LG Now Also on the Bandwagon with a 3D Laptop

August 1, 2010 by Berg divider image

LG R590 3DThe well-known Korean consumer electronics giant LG just launched its first notebook with support for stereoscopic 3D. LG’s newcomer has been dubbed R590 3D and is equipped with a 15.6-inch display. In the package is also a pair of polarized glasses to allow for a 3D experience in movies and games.

Under the hood is a mobile Intel Core i7 processor and graphics from Nvidia in the shape of a GeForce GT335M with 1GB of dedicated RAM, (which, on a side note, is the same card as the one in the minuscule Alienware M11x). The computer also supports simulated surround sound and comes with a built-in Blu-ray player.

LG R590 3D is launched in Korea in July and should reach the rest of the world in August. Pre-installed is a version of Windows 7 and some software called Tridef, which can convert 2D to stereoscopic 3D in real time.
